Laser Dentistry: Laser Tissue Contouring

Tissue contouring is performed with many procedures. Most commonly it is accompanied by a crown to remove tissue to obtain a perfect image or impression. This will ensure that the crown is well fitted and the tissue that rests against that new crown is healthy. Tissue contouring is also done for cosmetic reasons. Sometimes the gum tissue can become overgrown or too puffy and that tissue can be reduced with the laser giving the patient an instant smile makeover.
